After studying literature and education, I graduated as a Nursery Teacher (Educateur Jeune Enfant) in 2005. Since then, I have always worked in parent-run crèches. In 2018, I joined the Giving Tree team and am happy to find all the values that are close to my heart: personalized and respectful care for each child and their parents, openness to others and to the world, proximity to nature. Nature is important to me as I live in a little village at the foot of the Vosges with a garden and hens.’
I am originally from Lima (Peru) but I am Strasbourgeoise at heart. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UNISTRA and a diploma in Early Childhood Education. I am delighted to be part of the wonderful Giving Tree family. GT’s values resonate with me, including respect for children and their family and cultural environment, as well as diversity and openness to the world. The challenge of building a harmonious intercultural human group where our similarities and differences become our strength motivates me even more in my daily work with young children. My leitmotiv: create a environment of warmth where each child can find his or her place and blossom!
I am from Ténès, a port on the Algerian coast. After university in Algeria, I came to France to gain my CAP qualifications and have subsequently worked at three different nurseries. Arabic is my mother tongue, as well as French, which I speak at Giving Tree. I also speak some English. My hobbies include walking, going to the movies and studying early childhood to use in my work. For me, working at Giving Tree is an incredible thing, having joined Gillian on this project in October 2012, and from whom I have I learned enormously. Likewise with the rest of the GT team, we learn from each other every day.
I come from beautiful South Africa, and moved to France in 2009 with my husband, who is French. Over the last 20 years, I’ve looked after children in the USA, UK, South Africa and France. One of my great passions is art, which I studied after school. I enjoy painting and love to be creative, and I strongly believe that art is a fantastic tool for children to express themselves and to just have fun. I am grateful to be part of the wonderful Giving Tree team. At the crèche, I speak English with the children.
I grew up in Athens, Greece and at the age of 18 I left for the UK to do my studies in Business and Management. Living alone from a young age made me appreciate and enjoy cooking for both myself and friends. I was really happy to get this opportunity cooking for the kids and dive deeper in children’s dietary requirements. The satisfaction and gratification from this job is immense! Children are sometimes difficult to please so seeing them eating my creations is priceless.
Having a double role as both a parent and a cook I feel really invested in all aspects of crèche life. Also, I’m really happy to spend as much time as I can with my kids.
Originally from France, I studied English at the University for 3 years and so I’m speaking English at the crèche. After I graduated, I went in Israel for a year to volunteer in a kindergarten. I’ve always felt that I wanted to work with children but this year abroad has been an electroshock. Besides understanding the true meaning of Universal Love, I deeply felt in love with early childhood education so when I returned I did the CAP to be able to work in this field. I’m really happy and grateful to work at Giving Tree where Nature, Love, Respect and Openness all come together to build a warmhearted environment in which we can all bloom and shine.
I am an AMI certified Montessori teacher for 3-6 year olds, a licensed Music Together teacher and have training as a Gestalt therapist. I also have a Master’s degree in Arts in Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education. For the past 15 years, I’ve worked with children up to 6 years old in different settings, and it has been a real pleasure for me to discover the joys and challenges of working with children under three and their families in a parent-run crèche. As a native New Yorker, I speak English at the crèche. It is truly a pleasure to grow in and with the wonderful Giving Tree community.
